Meet the Tara High Administration Team

Mr. Hayman Principal
Mr. Hayman is a graduate from Texas A&M University and a former naval officer. He has taught English, broadcasting, social studies, and computer science. He was the first magnet coordinator at Southeast Middle School, and most recently, he was the assistant principal at Belaire Magnet High School. He is passionate about project-based learning, student engagement, and community involvement.

Mrs. Coleman Assistant Principal
Mrs. Coleman is an exemplary educator with a rich and impactful career in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Southern University in New Orleans and holds multiple certifications, including Special Education (Mild/Moderate, grades 1-12), Business Education, and as a Reading Specialist. Additionally, she has a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA. Since joining the Tara family in 2004, Mrs. Coleman has consistently demonstrated her unwavering commitment to student success. Her diverse experience as a teacher and ESS Site Facilitator has equipped her with unique insights, and she now excels in her role as Assistant Principal. Mrs. Coleman is dedicated to empowering students by nurturing their individual talents, interests, and abilities, ensuring they are well prepared for a dynamic and interconnected world.

Mrs. Mitchell Assistant Principal
Mrs. Mitchell has been an educator for over 15 years, and has served as an administrator in EBR for over 10 years. She enjoys the challenges that are unique to high school and serving high school students. She, her husband, and her daughter, reside in East Baton Rouge Parish with their four cats, two dogs, and four chickens! They enjoy swimming, fishing, cooking, and traveling together. Mrs. Mitchell enjoys photography and incorporates it into all aspects of life.
